Sauro Tronconi

Sauro Tronconi, writer, researcher, studied anthropology, humanist psicology and philosophy, epigon of Alexander Lowen, widely renowed for his expertise on human nature and his clear mind on human development. Since 1982 he has been conducting seminars on the field focused on the research of ourselves and on the development of human potentiality ....Philosophy means enlightenment, it means making a viewpoint and conscious orientation of life possible, but I do not believe it is possible to generalize the concept of philosophy. Philosophy cannot, in my view, be pure mental or intellectual speculation, as has too often been the case, but should be the use of the intellect to observe man in relation to events, in short to understand ourselves in relation to everything that happens moment by moment. I mean a practical, experiential philosophy which, as Socrates, the philosopher of the ‘polis’, says, is a way of being and operating in reality, as well as working out new thought and action in relation to the era and the tensions experienced in it. ...

He's the creator of "Self Awareness Growing Process", an effective method of philosophy and self discovery. His work, which is to provide instruments to people for improving and developing, creates constant cultural interest, supported by seminars and conferences in Italy and abroad.

An extract from an interview to Sauro Tronconi:

What role has philosophy performed in the history of man?
Philosophy means enlightenment, it means making a viewpoint and conscious orientation of life possible, but I do not believe it is possible to generalize the concept of philosophy. Explaining and searching for absolute truth cannot be what being a philosopher or even a scientist is about. Philosophy is action in relation to something, it is using the intelligence to act, it is understanding and making connections, it is sharing with others, it is the consciousness which becomes conscious of itself through words. Perhaps, as Aristotle said, it is impossible not to be a philosopher, and even those who are not interested in being one, in actual fact are. Man’s capacity for self-observation is one of the highest and most essential abilities we have for accelerating and at the same time harmonising our evolvement. Today we must rediscover a cure for the ‘spirit’ through philosophy, a cure which involves education, rejecting the modern idea that living a good life is the finding of answers to every question, something which often leads man to find pre-packaged solutions or to reduce healthy questions to matters to be resolved with drugs or therapy.
